When do you need a crown?
A crown protects and rebuilds a tooth that is cracked, broken, worn, root-canal treated or too damaged for a filling. It fully covers the tooth, restoring its shape, function and appearance while sealing and strengthening what remains underneath.
Why metal-free zirconia?
Zirconia is an exceptionally strong, biocompatible ceramic with no metal core, so there is no dark line at the gum and no grey shadow — just natural translucency. It resists chipping and wear, making it an excellent choice for both front and back teeth. For the most lifelike front-tooth results we can also layer porcelain over a zirconia base.
Made in our own laboratory
Because crowns are designed and milled on-site with CAD/CAM technology, fit is precise, colour-matching is controlled, and treatment needs fewer appointments — ideal for patients travelling on a fixed schedule.
Zirconia vs porcelain and E-max
Full-zirconia crowns are prized for strength and are our usual choice for back teeth, bridges and anyone with a firm bite. E-max (lithium disilicate) is slightly more translucent and is often preferred for single front crowns and thin veneers where ultimate aesthetics matter most. Older porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns are strong but can show a dark line at the gum over time. We match the material to each tooth rather than using one for everything.
A natural look — and no grey gum line
Because zirconia is metal-free, light passes through it much as it does through a natural tooth, so there is no dark grey line at the gum that old metal-based crowns often develop. The shade is matched to your neighbouring teeth, and for front teeth we can layer the ceramic for extra lifelike depth.
How long do zirconia crowns last?
With good cleaning and regular check-ups, quality zirconia crowns commonly last 10–15 years or more. Zirconia resists chipping and staining well, and because ours are milled and finished in our own laboratory to a precise fit, the margins stay clean and the gum stays healthy around them.

Frequently asked questions
+How many days for crowns?
Most crown treatments are completed in a single 5–6 night visit, including preparation and final fitting.
+Are zirconia crowns strong?
Yes — zirconia is one of the strongest dental ceramics and suits both front and back teeth, resisting chipping and wear.
+Will the crown look natural?
Metal-free zirconia has natural translucency with no grey gum line. Shades are matched to your neighbouring teeth for a seamless look.
+How much can I save?
Patients typically save 50–70% versus prices at home, even after travel — and packages already include hotel and transfers.
+Do zirconia crowns cause bad breath?
A well-made, well-fitted zirconia crown does not cause bad breath. Odour comes from plaque around a poorly fitting crown or from gum disease — which is why a precise margin and good cleaning matter. Our crowns are milled to a tight fit, and we treat any gum issues so your mouth stays fresh.
+Zirconia or E-max — which should I choose?
Choose zirconia for strength — back teeth, bridges, full-arch work or a firm bite. Choose E-max for the most translucent, lifelike single front crowns and thin veneers. We advise per tooth so you get strength where it is needed and maximum aesthetics where it shows.
+Will I see a dark line at the gum?
No. The grey line some people notice is caused by the metal core in old porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns. Zirconia is metal-free, so there is no dark margin — the crown stays natural-looking at the gum line.
