Samos → Kuşadası

Dental treatment from Samos: Kuşadası is 45 minutes away

For anyone living on or visiting Samos, the nearest major dental clinic is not in Athens — it is across the strait. From Vathy or Pythagorio the fast ferry reaches Kuşadası port in about 45 minutes (up to 75 minutes on the conventional boat), and our clinic is a five-minute taxi ride from the quay. Implants, zirconia crowns and E-max veneers cost 50–65% less here than in Athens or Thessaloniki, with the same materials, a written warranty in your name and — for longer treatments — a 5-star hotel and transfers included in the price. This guide explains what fits into a day trip, what needs a stay, what it costs and how it is organised.

Greek prices: published 2026 price lists of private practices; on the islands often higher because supply is limited. Our prices are ranges, not quotes — you receive your fixed price in writing after we see photos or a panoramic X-ray. EOPYY covers none of this work for adults.

What fits into a day trip — and what does not

The morning ferry leaves Samos around 8:30–9:00 and the afternoon boat returns around 17:00–17:30 (timetables change by season — confirm with the agent). That gives roughly six hours in Kuşadası. Comfortably within that window: a full examination with CBCT scan, professional cleaning, in-clinic whitening, fillings, re-cementing a crown, extractions and, in straightforward cases, even implant placement. Not within it: crowns, veneers and anything that passes through the laboratory — those need two or three appointments over a few days. We tell you which category your case falls into before you book a ticket, not when you arrive.

Why prices are so much lower than on Samos or in Athens

Not because the materials are cheaper. The implants we place are the same German, Swiss and Korean brands you would find in Kolonaki; the zirconia and E-max are the same certified blocks. The difference is operating cost — salaries, rent, laboratory — and the fact that the clinic has its own dental laboratory in the same building, so it neither pays nor charges an outside technician. On the islands, prices are often above Athens levels because there are few dentists and no competition. For Samos residents the gap is doubled.

Quality: what 'Ministry of Health authorised' means

Turkey has thousands of dental practices and they are not all alike. Our partner clinic is registered in the Turkish Ministry of Health's health-tourism system (Healin Turkey) — state inspection of equipment, sterilisation and staff qualifications, and the legal right to treat foreign patients. It holds a TÜV certificate, occupies a five-storey building with its own lab, and has 4.6/5 from 227 Google reviews you can read yourself. Warranties are issued in writing, in your name: up to lifetime on implants, 10 years on E-max veneers, 5 years on zirconia crowns. If anything is needed, you are 45 minutes away — an advantage no patient from Stockholm has.

Hotel, transfers and 'all-inclusive'

For treatments that need a stay, the written price includes the treatment, accommodation at the Queen Marin (5-star, by the sea) and transfers port–hotel–clinic. It does not include the ferry ticket or meals outside the hotel. Day visits need no hotel — port pickup is free if requested in advance. If you want to combine treatment with Ephesus (25 minutes) or Şirince, we arrange it around your appointments.

How common this actually is

Kuşadası port records around 180,000 entries a year from the Samos and Chios ferries (official 2024 port statistics), and a steady share are islanders coming for shopping, doctors and dentists. You are not the first — and the clinic knows exactly how to schedule appointments around the ferry timetable. If the afternoon boat is early, say so and the day is planned accordingly.

  1. Before the ferry

Send us a photo or panoramic X-ray on WhatsApp. You receive a written plan in Greek or English with a fixed price — you know what will happen and what you will pay before buying a ticket.

  2. At the port

Passport or new-type ID card. Passport control in Kuşadası takes a few minutes. One of our people waits at the exit if you have asked for pickup.

  3. At the clinic

3D CBCT scan, plan confirmed with the dentist, treatment begins. For a cleaning, whitening or filling you are back on the afternoon boat.

  4. For larger treatments

Crowns and veneers: 5–7 nights, hotel included. Implants: 5 nights now, a day trip in 3–6 months for the final crowns.

  5. Going home

You leave with warranty documents in your name. If anything is needed, we are 45 minutes away — not a flight to Athens.

FAQ

How long is the ferry from Samos to Kuşadası?

About 45 minutes on the fast ferry and up to 75 minutes on the conventional boat, from Vathy or Pythagorio. Daily sailings April–October, fewer in winter — confirm with your agent.

Do I need a visa?

No. Greek citizens enter Turkey visa-free for tourist visits; you need a passport or a new-type ID card. Other EU nationals: check the e-Visa rules for your country.

Can I have implants in one day?

Implant placement in straightforward cases can be done in one visit, but the final crowns go on after 3–6 months of healing — a second day trip. The plan is confirmed in writing beforehand.

What if I need something after treatment?

You have a written warranty in your name and the clinic is 45 minutes away. For small adjustments we can also liaise with your dentist on Samos.

Does anyone speak Greek at the clinic?

The team works in English and Turkish; your treatment plan, price and warranties are given in writing in Greek, and our assistant answers on WhatsApp in Greek. Nothing important stays verbal.

How much is the consultation?

The remote assessment (photos or panoramic X-ray) and the written plan are free and without obligation. The CBCT scan at the clinic is part of the plan once you proceed.
